The problem
The University of Manchester needed to modernise the technology used by 25,000 staff and 40,000 devices quickly, without disrupting teaching or research for a moment.
Several big changes had to happen at once: upgrading every device, moving data to the cloud, and tightening security, while a new outsource partner was being brought in. All this was at a scale the university hadn't seen before.
What we built
We brought the university and its new partner together as one team and delivered the whole programme: 40,000 devices upgraded, 25,000 staff had their data moved to the cloud, over 200 essential applications were made available securely from anywhere, and the university's IT security was materially strengthened, all without interrupting day-to-day teaching and research.
