HCL · Barclays

Moved Barclays' IT support to a new partner and refreshed 130,000 devices across the bank, plus 27 walk-up support bars in five countries, all without dropping service.

The problem

Barclays needed to move its IT support to a new provider and refresh 130,000 devices across the bank, all without staff or customers ever losing service.

It meant transferring around 600 people to a new partner, rebranding the support service, setting up walk-up support across several countries, and standing up disaster-recovery, all happening at once on a live, 150,000-device estate.

What we built

We moved roughly 600 staff to the new provider in Lithuania, rebranded the support service, started delivery of 130,000 new devices, and opened 27 walk-up tech bars across five countries, all backed by a new disaster-recovery site. The result was a smooth handover to a new way of working, with service to staff in 5 countries never dropping.

  • ~600 staff novated to HCL
  • 130k devices refreshed
  • 27 Techbars across 5 countries
  • DR facility live in Vilnius
